BCARTW Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the BCARTW (BC Association of Retired Telecommunication Workers) was held on May 27, 2026.

Membership Recruitment

It is important to increase membership in the BCARTW. Tell all the retirees that you know about the BCARTW. Encourage participation at meetings and for positions on the Board of Directors.

Active members can join the BCARTW as non-voting members. If you know any active members, encourage participation and interest in the Pension Plan and BCARTW. We will need future retirees prepared to become involved.

Dues Reminders

Dues are $10/year. The membership year is May 1^st to April 30^th. Please forward your membership dues prior to April 30 each year. Dues can be paid online, E-transfer or by cheque.

Notice

It is with regret and deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Darlene Foley, a longtime member of our Board of Directors.

Darlene was the Vice-President of the BCARTW for 4 years. She worked tirelessly for the retirees, attending numerous Union Conventions to support our candidate for Pension Trustee and to speak on behalf of our retired members.

Darlene was a staunch trade unionist, representing her members of Local 15 in Kamloops, as well as representing the TWU/USW at the Kamloops and District Labour Council for many years. She retired from Telus after the Operator Service office was closed. She later returned to work at the Kamloops Wildlife Park and became an active and involved member of CUPE.

She was a good friend, with a wicked sense of humour. Our condolences go out to all the members of her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She will be sorely missed.
